THE SNP is yet again demanding a referendum on Scottish independence.

In 2014, a “once-in-a-lifetime” referendum was won by the Remainers.

So is it reasonable that only six years later a second referendum is held? I think it is and this is why.

In 2016, the good folks of Scotland voted by a massive majority to stay in the European Union, but we are leaving due entirely to the preference of English and Welsh voters. In the December 2019 General Election, the SNP won with an overwhelming majority, halving the number of Tory MPs and leaving Labour with only one.

The mood in Scotland is one of anger that they are being denied a second say in this matter. That is wrong.

So let us have that second referendum later this year, when Scotland can – if it votes to leave the union – gain the status of a truly independent nation.
