THE Labour Party are quite convinced that a second referendum will finally resolve the Brexit debate irrespective of an unknown turnout and the ‘best of three’ scenario being played out.
The fact that there proposed new deal offering a different kind of leave and remaining in the EU will be the only option on the ballot paper will not go down well with many of the 17 million voters for leave in the 2016 referendum who will want the current deal already agreed with the other 27 European countries, to be another option.
It is also a concern that Jeremy Corbyn and his shadow cabinet do not first obtain the approval of Parliament for their new deal which would at least validate it being an option on the ballot paper.
Leaving the decision of a lifetime to an electorate many of whom may not fully understand all the implications of the proposed new deal could be a step too far.
