I AGREE with the general sentiments of John Gilmore’s letter regarding immigration (HAS, Nov 18).
By all means let us welcome doctors, nurses and other workers who are needed in this country.
However, what we don’t need, I suggest are the criminals, riff raff, and undesirables who gain entry to this country thanks to uncontrolled immigration.
As far as London is concerned, television programmes seem to suggest that many migrants are living in overcrowded, illegal and unsafe accommodation, including garden sheds.
Many do not even speak English so how can they gain employment in this country?
I would suggest that this type of immigration is of no benefit to this country hence the need to end freedom of movement to address this problem.
