ONE of the benefits of being a member of the European Union is being able to apply for grants towards the costs of constructing certain worthwhile projects.
Your article (Echo, Oct 19) detailing the opening of Teesside University's new National Horizons Centre in Darlington overlooked referring to the substantial funding from the EU which it received towards the cost of £22.3m.
Likewise, Feethams House, currently being erected in Darlington too, benefits from £8.5m EU funding.
After Brexit where will this type of funding come? Don't bank on it coming from our Government.
Malcolm Dunstone, Darlington.
