WHAT is the point of the mobile speeding van parked at the bottom of the hill near the Masons Arms in Bishop Auckland?

My daughter has recently been fined £100 for speeding there, as have I and my niece and, I would think, half of the people who live in Bishop Auckland

Apart from the enormous amount of money the police must be raking in, what is the point? Would it not be more common sense to have a speed restriction sign placed at the bottom of the bank, just like there is as you enter Barnard Castle from the A66.

We are not all budding Lewis Hamiltons flying about the town. In our case we were picking kids up from football training.
