“PROTESTORS make their voices heard” – that was your headline on the reports on the anti-prorogation rallies held last weekend (Echo, Sept 2).

You state that dozens of people gathered in Darlington, several hundred attended a rally in Durham, thousands took to the streets of York, 200 in Middlesbrough and 2,000 in Newcastle.

The total is not as many as attended the Swindon v Morecambe football match in League Two.

This trickle shows how weak the remain vote is in the north.

We leavers are not gloating, but your weakness shows the strength of the leavers without having to stoop to shouting the odds or taking to protesting on the streets.
