WITH reply to Mrs Harris of Barnard Castle (HAS, July 13), I never at any time mentioned that the mobile breast screening unit at Bishop Auckland FC should be stopped or was not value for money.
I worked for the health service for 19 years, and have had need to use the screening services of the scanner units as well as having had breast operations.
I do not wish to get into a spat but I seem to think that the rental of the sites, for these breast or MRI units, is excessive at £30,000. This money could be used within the NHS, instead of renting ground space.
