AFTER reading that work is going to start on the throughabout in Haughton Road (Echo, June 26) and will take seven months to change it back to a roundabout, there will be many people of Darlington wondering why so long?
It could be done overnight. Turn the traffic lights off and put bollards to block the central carriageway and it’s done! I wonder if anyone from the highway department has considered doing that as a trial?
