IS nothing sacred anymore? I was greatly disappointed that the Race for Life at South Park included male participants for the first time (Echo, June 10).

This was an event set up more than 12 years ago for women only raising cancer awareness, and that's the way it should stay.

There is a male only race mainly for prostate cancer.

Is it just because numbers are falling that allowing men to race is going to boost funds?

I think in the future male runners will turn it into a full-blown race to finish first, which is not the point of the event.

It was stated that it is not a race or a run, but just for fun.

I've nothing against men running in pink, but that is the main female colour, so let it go back to female only.

Answers on a postcard please. Thank you.
