I’M sure the Echo, not being a great Brexit supporter, took great delight in displaying the billboard showing the old quote by Nigel Farage that “we need to move to an insurance-based system of healthcare” (Echo, May17).
Does what Nigel say on that subject really matter?
To adopt that policy, the Brexit Party would have to be in government with a huge majority. It hasn’t, at the present time, got any seats in the House of Commons.
Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party is there to carry out the wishes of the majority regarding leaving the EU. We need a figure with backbone. Come the next General Election the Brexit Party will not feature in winning many seats. The vast majority of seats will go to the Conservative or Labour parties as usual. The Liberal Democrats – well, they will go the way of Vince Cable.
