" (Echo, May 13), many residents will wish the newly elected Middlesbrough mayor Andy Preston good luck and success in his new streamlined way of running Middlesbrough council.
What is apparent from the result of the local elections is that many voters wanted a different way of running local politics.
Hence, unlike the Brexit fiasco, Middlesbrough's independent mayor is attempting to deliver what people voted for.
