MY husband and I attended the Harrogate Spring Flower Show on Sunday, April 28, coming with National Holidays.
Never having tried this before but were optimistic about the short break.
We found the Harrogate Spring Flower Show disappointing and would not recommend it to others.
The main complaint was the lack of marquees and seating. We bought a few snacks, tea, coffee and samosas but could not find anywhere to sit indoors eventually found a bench outdoors sharing with others, (not that this was a problem sharing).
We felt that there seemed to be a two-tiered system favouring customers willing to book lunch and teas in advance and enjoying undercover facilities attended to by waitress.
We bought a programme and noticed this VIP presidential pavilion had to be booked in advance at a cost of £109.95 for lunch and teas for a reduced cost of £39.95 etc. This seemed a most elitist and outdated concept. Many people we spoke to at the show were elderly and needed a quiet place undercover to enjoy a lunch or tea.
If we had come in our own car we would have left after an hour or two as it was not a good day for sitting outside.
Having come by coach we were obliged to wait five hours before we could leave.
