I ATTENDED a gathering of more than 100 people in Darlington on Saturday.
With Brexit on the horizon, it feels like far right attitudes are being openly promoted. It was reassuring to see a large group of citizens making it clear that hate has no place in our region.
In all the furore about Brexit I’m also reassured that MPs in our region are fighting to ensure that all those who voted are being represented.
I voted to Remain in a referendum that was 52 to 48.
As a woman, a mother and a small business owner I would say we already have the best deal. Anything put forward since the vote would leave me and my family worse off.
The rise of hate politics and a looming economic decline of our region are terrifying prospects.
