I REFER to your article “Why I’m resigning from two councils” (Echo, Mar 23) regarding the Independent Spennymoor councillor’s resignation from the council.
Apparently, he did not agree with the other Independent councillors in the Independent Group.
How on earth can there be an Independent Group?
Surely the whole point of seeking to be and being elected as an Independent councillor is to act entirely on one’s own initiative and according to one’s own personal opinion and not in accordance with the wishes of any group?
