SEVERAL years ago, BBC TV showed about 60 people sleeping in a London West End park every night.

The Government, after criticism, arranged for apartments nearby to be altered into accommodation for the rough sleepers.

Fine.

Six months later the BBC revisited and guess what? The inhabitants had all gone back to living rough in the park! Rough sleeping has little to do with a government spending money.

It is to do with family, mostly.

I would ensure no member of my family ever slept rough, unless they had behaved badly and didn’t regret their actions.

That would lead to them being ostracised, and I suggest this is what is happening particularly with teenagers who will not obey house rules.

These problems begin early in life when growing children should be trained to observe family rules, so I blame the parents for allowing teenagers to run wild and dominate their families.
