WHEN you become a pensioner, you, of course have seen many changes. But one really irritates me. I rang for a taxi, and half an hour after it was due, rang to ask why it was late.

“Oh, he’s been and gone” was the reply. Why can’t the driver ring a door bell? Perhaps they expect older people to stand out on a cold night, waiting for the vehicle to arrive.
