REGARDING Dave Bowes letter ‘Nightmare run’ (HAS, Sept 19). I live in Escomb and had to change the time I leave my home for work to avoid the dreaded school run.

It sends shivers up my spine just muttering them words.

The majority of the parents have no respect for anyone else on that run and are putting children at risk as well as showing them how not to behave.

They turn around in the middle of the road, they pull out straight in front of you, they park dangerously and illegally.

When the police do turn up to monitor the drivers, well, the parents just park round the corner out of sight and block people's drives off, if you dare say anything to them the two fingers gets shown to you.

The council put a footpath to the rear of the school for the children to walk to school as most of the pupils live within a mile.

I know some parents who live a quarter of a mile away and still drive.

It is so scary to see the way that some people drive on the school run they start queuing up about an hour before the end of day just so they can get parked.
