IT is sad to see the end of Geoff Cook’s time with Durham County Cricket Club but we have the memories that he gave us.

My greatest memory that fantastic two days at Lords when we won our first major trophy.

The only disappointing aspect was that not many saw the trophy being lifted due to it going into a second day due to the weather.

Watching KP trundle back to the Long Room only having scored 12, and who will ever forget Ottis Gibson’s first over?

This news, following on from the retirement of another hero that day, Paul Collingwood with 22 runs and three wickets, makes it a sad end to an era.
