WE hear so much about how London and the south-east has no time for anywhere north of Luton.
Head north to County Durham and we find a council, on a smaller scale of course, obsessed with doing exactly the same in Durham City.
The traffic congestion in our medieval city dates back years because there's only one option for most of the traffic and that’s to drive through Durham.
The council has decided to move its headquarters which is a good opportunity for it to relocate away from the city and find a new home in another part of the county, instead of more building in Durham which is just a building site and is being spoilt for residents and visitors alike.
I take it there will be a nice free car park for the councillors which, of course, will mean more traffic in and out of Durham!
