IN three heinous acts of terror in 2017, 36 innocent lives were lost in the UK at the hands of deranged radical’s intent on causing death and destruction.

But Hambleton District Council ‘Hambleton council raises concerns over housing asylum seekers’ (Echo, June 6) seems to forget that foreign-born extremists are in a minority, in seeking to scapegoat vulnerable asylum seekers fleeing war and persecution.

Britain is a generous nation with a proud history of providing aid to those around the world who are most in need – we must not let the tiny minority of fanatical murderers win and undermine our core British values of compassion and tolerance.
