AT a time when over a million people are entirely dependent on food banks to avoid going hungry; when countless poor families are affected by the draconian bureaucratic incompetence and calculated inhumanity of Universal Credit; when more and more young people are finding themselves homeless and jobless, how can Persimmon Homes enable its management team to pay themselves a collective bonus of £500m (Echo, Dec 19) – especially when its performance has been significantly boosted by the government’s help to buy scheme?
The whole thing stinks and I note that in referring to it Vince Cable uses the word “obscene.”
Perfectly apt, and I would add the following – putrid, amoral, grotesque, outrageous and cynical.
Tony Kelly, Crook
