I WOULD like to have the opportunity to respond to Tony Kelly’s letter (HAS, Mar 13), in which he totally misread the meaning of my letter about Satan (HAS, Mar 7).

Mr Kelly seemed to think that I viewed Satan as an imaginary entity in all our minds; “within” all our minds was my statement.

Satan is there to influence human thought, as is God also.

The inborn gift of free will acts as the catalyst to resist temptation, or to give way to it.

As Tony stated, Satan is always about and I see him in our daily thoughts. In that context he is unseen.

As for visible signs of him, I believe this can become selfevident – the contorted face of hate and anger and the self-satisfied sinister smirk are etched by none other than Satan himself.

In my humble opinion, I find that there is no other way to define the entity known as Satan.

Thought comes before action.
