MORRISON’S recently rewarded my many years of loyal custom – with an £85 parking fine.
This punishment was for overstaying my welcome in Morrison’s Guisborough car park.
I’m not disputing the ticket, as I doubt that such a professional and caring company like Morrison’s would get it wrong.
However, I must bring into question the business acumen of the management team who believe that levying parking fines on their customers is a great strategy for retaining them.
Well done Morrison’s, I’ll certainly continue to shop with you — NOT.
Lidl is just up the road and I am happily transferring my business, and hard-earned cash, to them.
It is interesting to note that the Co-op in Whitby also made a similar misguided decision on parking management, which seriously backfired. The resultant loss of customers to the new Sainsbury’s store has forced the Whitby Co-op to rescind its profiteering parking policy.
Ruth Brew, Whitby.
