WITH the Grand National fast approaching, I feel I have to write to draw people’s attention to the alarming amount of horses that have to be destroyed at race meetings.
Week after week, year after year, it goes on, yet it seems as though nothing is being done to help these poor animals.
Even when a horse is tired and beaten, they get pushed to the limit.
The powers that be must try harder to stop this cruelty to one of God’s beautiful creatures.
Edward Halliday, Langley Moor.
