MAY I thank all who attended the recent sell-out RAF in Concert Diamond Jubilee performance at the Royal Hall, Harrogate, which was staged in support of the RAF Charitable Trust.

The musicianship was of the highest order and the feedback we have received has been incredibly positive.

The RAF Charitable Trust is one of three major RAF charities. Its objective is to distribute money to the worthiest of causes for the benefit of the wider RAF family.

In this category are not only serving personnel and their dependents; but also young people – with particular emphasis on air cadets and underprivileged youth; and, of course, projects to help RAF veterans. During the past seven years, the trust has donated more than £1.75m to help those most in need.

On behalf of my fellow trustees, I would like to thank all those who, by supporting our concert at the Royal Hall have helped us to help others so very much less fortunate than ourselves. We look forward to welcoming them all back again, next year, for another memorable and enjoyable performance.

Sir John Cheshire, chairman, Royal Air Force Charitable Trust
