WHOEVER successfully pitched a series about bedtime could probably sell ice to eskimos. After all, watching people sleep doesn’t exactly sound riveting.

But then, Bedtime Live is a little different. Its objective is to concentrate less on those who visit the Land of Nod as soon as their heads hit the pillow, but to focus more on taking a look at the reasons why some of the nation’s youngsters can’t drift off – and what effect that might have on their waking hours and those of their beleaguered parents.

Child psychologist Professor Tanya Byron and co-host Jake Humphreys are on hand with advice for those whose under-tens won’t, or can’t, sleep. Each week they also ask for emails and tweets from members of the public in need of help, or who have interesting stories about their offsprings’ nocturnal habits.
