I'M going to Durham Tees Valley Airport this morning to remember Andrew Mynarski who gave his life in the Second World War ikn 1941, trying to save his friend Pat Brophy who was trapped in a stricken Lancaster bomber.
I'll be laying a wreath on behalf of The Northern Echo readers who, in 2005, raised tens of thousands of pounds to erect a bronze statue in memory of his heroism. It stands outside St George's Hotel.
