A JUDGE has told a dealer to brace himself for a prison sentence after he was caught with hundreds of pounds worth of heroin and a large stash of drugs money.

Simon Butler admitted possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, and possessing criminal property, when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.

The 22-year-old, of Claremont Gardens, Stockton, also pleaded guilty to possessing a small amount of cannabis on the same day, November 17 last year.

Recorder Jonathan Sandiford adjourned the case until July 26 for a probation report.

He granted Butler bail until then after telling him: "You must understand a custodial sentence of some length is inevitable in your case."

Robert Mochrie, defending, asked the judge to extend bail until the next hearing so Butler could spend "his final few weeks" with his young daughter.
