TWO landmarks will be lit red today in support of an anti-racism campaign.

Newport Bridge and Stockton’s Town Hall, fountains and riverside will be lit in support of the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.

The lighting will mark the campaign’s annual Wear Red Day, with councillors and council staff being encouraged to wear the colour and make a donation to the charity.

There’ll also be a host of fundraising activities throughout the day, including a 5k riverside relay.

Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “We’re always very proud to back the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.

"It’s a great charity that has helped and educated so many people in relation to all forms of racism."
