VISITORS to Billingham Forum Theatre will be able to enjoy a more comfortable experience when they visit this autumn.

Over the summer the council has replaced all the seats and carpets in the Forum Theatre giving it a fresh, new look.

Councillor Jim Beall, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's cabinet member for health, leisure and culture, said: “We’ve replaced all the seats and carpets in the auditorium in keeping with the listed status of the building.

“The theatre is much loved and we are pleased to be able to carry out this investment to make it a more attractive and comfortable place for residents and visitors to enjoy plays, musical acts, comedy or the panto.”

Derek Cooper and John Davey, directors of Riverside Leisure Promotions, who operate the theatre, said: “We are both delighted with the new look of the auditorium and the added comfort for our customers.

"As a very popular and well-attended theatre we are also extremely pleased to have been able to add some extra seats to the auditorium during this process”.
