A MAN wanted by police in connection with an alleged burglary has been arrested by police officers conducting routine patrols.
Officers carried out a stop and search after noticing a man acting suspiciously on a driveway yesterday.
The Cleveland Police officers questioned the man’s motives for being in the area and soon discovered damage to the property on Fieldfare Road, in Hartlepool, where the man was stood.
The 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and shortly after is was found the man was wanted in connection with an alleged burglary at a property on Tiverton Grove in Hartlepool.
Cleveland Police Assistant Chief Constable Adrian Roberts said: “This job is a fantastic example of team work and shows what an effective tool stop and search can be.
“I would like to personally thank the officers for using their initiative when spotting the man during the early hours of Thursday morning and I am delighted that the search resulted in such positive outcomes.”
