URBAN and contemporary dance are coming to stage as part of a new project.
Led by Urban Kaos, Dance-INC is an inclusive dance group aimed at young people aged 11 to 18 living in and around Middlesbrough.
Weekly sessions start at Middlesbrough Town Hall next week and are open to all, especially young people with a disability who wish to dance.
Students on stage
Jean Lordon, of project funders Tees Valley Sport, said: “We are so pleased to be supporting this inclusive dance opportunity in Middlesbrough – it’s wonderful to see young people coming together and having access to high quality regular out-of-school dance activities and hopefully inspiring a passion for dance.
“It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to create, develop and sustain a Tees Valley-wide inclusive dance programme bringing together children and young people from different backgrounds to celebrate and realise their potential through dance.”
Learning new moves
The sessions, which will provide a creative space for young people to dance and build confidence in a supportive environment, start on Tuesday, January 15 and will take place every Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm.
