SHOPPERS will be able to take advantage of Fair Trade Extravaganza next weekend.

The annual event is taking place in Yarm Methodist Church, on Saturday, October 27 between 10 am and 1pm.

The event celebrates everything fair trade, whilst connecting the local community with some of the world’s poorest producers.

Jenny Medhurst, who helps organise the event, said: “The Extravaganza gives people a unique opportunity to see a wide selection of beautiful crafts, accessories and food from around the world .

"It's a chance to stock up early on gifts for Christmas which are beautiful and unusual, and to help change the lives of the skilled craftspeople who produced them.

"In addition it's a marvellous way to make the Christmas story a reality."

There will be a wide variety of goods on sale through a number of different ethical traders, as well as charity Christmas cards and a café, profits of which will be donated to support the work of Traidcraft's charity.

All are welcome to attend.
