YOUNGSTERS from Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary School have proved they are street smart after winning the annual road safety quiz.
The successful pupils from Billingham beat off competition from second-place Mill Primary School, in Ingleby Barwick and Billingham South Primary School in third.
More than 600 Year 6 pupils from 20 schools across the Stockton borough area studied the children’s highway code, Tales of the Road, as well as looking at road safety messages from by-gone days.
The quiz also used old public information films featuring Tufty, Dads Army and granddad forgetting his brolly.
The three finalists competed at the Oakwood Centre, in Eaglescliffe.
