THE parents of a missing man are desperate for their son to get in touch.

John and Julie Fletcher are concerned they have not heard from Scott, 27, of Hartlepool, for nearly two weeks.

He has also not contacted his children Lucie, four, and stepson Bradley, six.

He was last seen getting into a dark Renault Clio in a lay-by opposite the Jet garage, on the A181 at Wheatley Hill, near Durham City, at about 8.20pm onWednesday, May 11.

The 54-registration car was being driven by a blonde woman.

His parents said: "Scott, we love you and miss you - we just want to know that you are safe.

"Please contact us to let us know that you are alright, the children are missing you. Lucie needs to know where her dad is and Bradley is also asking where you are."

Mr Fletcher is known to have connections inWheatley Hill, West Rainton and Cumbria.

Acting Detective Inspector Alan Todd, of Cleveland Police, said: "I appeal to Scott directly to make contact with someone to let them know that you are safe and well and to end the anguish that your family are in.

"I would also urge any members of the public who think they may have seen or spoken to Scott to get in touch; our investigations will continue until we know that he is safe and well."
