FOUR police officers were allegedly assaulted whilst responding to a disturbance at a Thornaby home.
The Cleveland officers reported being spat at, bitten, headbutted and elbowed in the face as well as being pushed to the ground.
One of the officers had to attend hospital as a precaution after being bitten on his arm.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of several counts of assaulting an emergency service worker and on suspicion of affray. He was later released under investigation.
