SINGERS, dancers and young comics have been showing off their talents at an annual show.

Performers from the The King’s Academy, Coulby Newham, proved their school has talent as they competed for honours in front of an audience and panel of judges.

Among the performers were harpist Laura Edmonds, pianist Cody Brown and singers Lucy Jo Rowntree, Lauren Wilson, Elijah Jackson, Ash Prior, Cameron Foster, Layla Robinson and Amy Percival Lucie Hindshaw and Sophie Webber.

Comics Daniel Yellow and Aaron Jackson put on a routine, as did comedian Abbie Clark, while Lilly Brady and Daisy Turner sang and danced and Katie Marshall and Kayley Taylor put on a performance of Llomilo.

Proceedings were brought to a conclusion with an enthusiastic rendition of the Spice Girls’ Wannabe.

Head of drama and chief judge Eddie Jones said: “I have been a judge of this contest for many years but this has been the highest standard yet and the variety has been fantastic.

“It takes a lot of courage for young people to take to the stage and it is especially rewarding to see them enjoy performing as much as the audience loved watching them.”
