TWO women are preparing to take on the Great North Run in support of Mental Health Foundation.

Jennie Pearce-Roberts, 33, and Sophie Cox, 29, from Great Ayton, run successful cleaning business Mrs Bliss, so after spending a full day cleaning they have needed to motivate themselves to train on an evening.

Miss Pearce-Roberts said: "We chose Mental Health Foundation because we think its work is so important and all of us should talk about our mental health more.

"We want to raise as much as we can for them, which has been our motivation to get out training because we are generally exhausted after work.

"Training has gone well, and we completed our last big run this week, and will just be doing more relaxed runs now up until the race on Sunday so we don't injure ourselves."

While it is Miss Cox's first time at the Great North Run, Miss Pearce-Roberts has done it twice before.
