A MASSIVE clean-up is being planned and people are being urged to join in.
Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston is proposing a month of action when the Council, voluntary groups and residents will be working together to make improvements in the town.
The work will include general litter picking, painting street furniture and fences, tidying play areas and cleaning litter bins.
However, members of the public are being asked to come forward with ideas of how to make their own communities look better.
It is proposed the month-long town-wide clean-up will begin on Monday, July 15.
Mr Preston said: "I'd love to see loads of people coming together and getting stuck in to make Middlesbrough look absolutely amazing.
"There are parts of Middlesbrough which are really beautiful but there are parts where there is too much litter or would be really improved with a lick of paint."
