SCHOOLS have one week to sign up to the eighth annual Tees Valley Skills and STEM Event, the region’s biggest careers fair.

The event will take place at the Olympia Building at Teesside University on Tuesday, July 2, but there is still time for schools to sign up as visitors and take advantage of the opportunity to engage with 75 universities, colleges, learning providers and employers.

The Northern Echo:

Hosted by Tees Valley Combined Authority, in partnership with North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership (NYBEP), Teesside University, Tees Valley Learning Provider Network and Sirius Minerals, it is one of the largest events of its kind in the area.

Since they were launched, the Tees Valley Skills and STEM events have engaged with over 12,000 young people to date.

Cllr Bob Cook, TVCA lead on education, employment and skills, said: “There’s a wealth of opportunity in our region across many exciting sectors and by giving students a clear idea of the huge range of roles on offer, we can inspire them to go further and realise their ambitions here in the Tees Valley. It’s invaluable for businesses too, to help them meet and shape the future of their workforce.”
