A DELICIOUS delivery of cupcakes made by students ensured housing association staff celebrated the company’s fifth birthday in style.

To mark the occasion Fabrick Housing Group employees tucked into sugary treat thanks to a partnership with Middlesbrough College.

Lecturer Vicki O’Connor led the project to give three students real-life experience as part of their Patisserie course as they prepared, baked and decorated the cakes.

She said: “This has been a fantastic opportunity for us to bake on this scale – the project has given the Patisserie students a real feel for industry level baking and food production, which will prove invaluable when they enter the jobs market.”

Alison Thain, chief executive of the housing group, said: “The group has remained strong in recent times despite the housing sector facing some tough challenges and that’s down to the hard work and dedication of its employees, so we wanted to really celebrate this milestone.

“We asked the students to help us make it a birthday to remember and they did a fantastic job.”
