THE story of Florence Nightingale will be told at Middlesbrough Central Library this month.

As wealthy and privileged as she may have been, Florence Nightingale still had many challenges to overcome in defying the conventional role of a Victorian woman.

The History Wardrobe will bring to life the story of the founder of modern nursing and key female figure in 19th century history.

The event will take place at Middlesbrough Central Library as part of Local History Month on Wednesday, May 8 at 7pm.

The day will also celebrate the Central Library’s 101st birthday.

Tickets are £6 and available to purchase from Middlesbrough Central Library.
