STUDENTS arriving at Teesside University during the week were greeted by Easter-themed knitwear hanging off the entrance gates - thought to have been put there by staff.
The ‘yarn-bombing’ – a craze in which woollen decorations are hung in public places by anonymous knitters – happened early on Tuesday morning, March 13.
The display outside the University included Easter eggs, bunnies, ribbons and a Teesside University logo, leading to suspicions that it could be an inside job.
Sarah Smith, recruitment co-ordinator in Teesside University’s department of marketing and student recruitment, said: “The yarn-bombing certainly created a lot of interest – everybody was stopping and having a look.
“We are not sure who was responsible for it – but it definitely brightened the place up.”
