Hutton Magna schoolgirl Natalie Bellas has raised £100.50 for Help For Heroes by baking and selling cakes.

Natalie attends Barton Cubs, part of the Barton Scout Group. The group wanted to raise money for Help For Heroes and each member was asked to raise some sponsorship funding. Originally Natalie had the idea of a 1-hour sponsored dance but later decided that selling cakes would do better.

Some clever planning in the form of an advance email to the village, setting what she planned to do and asking for orders was sent out, which resulted an in a flood of requests. A very busy weekend of baking flapjacks, Mars Bar crispy cakes, cherry buns, coffee cake and chocolate butterfly buns followed. Natalie then delivered the orders to all her neighbours.

This endeavour raised the magnificent sum of £100.50 and for which Natalie was awarded the Cub of the Week trophy.

The Cubs raised a collective total of £450.00 which will be presented to the charity when they visit the Phoenix Centre at Catterick Garrison this coming week.
