Easter weekend brings a Designer Makers Market to the Witham in Barnard Castle.

This two-day event, on Good Friday, April 18 and Easter Saturday April 19th, will showcase some of the very best designers and craftspeople from around the region.

The emphasis will be on original and contemporary work, with a strong 'up-cycled' theme. There will be an opportunity to meet the designer-makers in person and buy unique handcrafted goods of gallery quality.

As well as talented craftspeople selling their work, some will be demonstrating their skills and throughout the weekend there will also be 'have a go' sessions where people of all ages can try their hand at learning a new craft.

Also on display will be outfits made by young people from Teesdale for the 'Trashion Show' which took place recently at The Hub.

Admission to the event is free, but a small donation to St Teresa's Hospice will be gratefully received. The market will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both days. More information including details of the stallholders can be found at http://www.designermakersmarket.co.uk
