Peter Williams, who hails from Barnard Castle, is one of three cadet British Airways pilots, currently training in Jerez, southern spain, who plan to cycle back to London for charity, a distance of some 2,200km, to raise money and awarness for the charity “Dreamflight”.

Each October, Dreamflight charters a Boeing 747 from British Airways and takes 192 children who are, or have been, seriously ill or disabled, on their Holiday of a Lifetime to Florida. The children are accompanied by over 160 volunteer escorts, mostly from the medical professions.

Dreamflight aims to select children who would never otherwise have such an opportunity due to their medical condition and/or social circumstances. Peter, and his two colleagues Jonathan Smith and Martin Oakes, hope to raise £7000 which will allow two children to experience this opportunity.

The return journey will start towards the end of November and they will be arriving at London Heathrow approximately 3 weeks later. Throughout the trip they will be updating their Twitter account with progress; they can be followed using @ThRtrnJrny.
