A TEENAGE boxer has once again proved herself to be a big hitter in the sport.

Macy Gallone was in action at Bridlington on Saturday, November 30 for the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs’ finals– and won her second national title of the year.

Representing her hometown club Spennymoor Boxing Academy, she was up against Roxanne Fraser from the renowned Repton Boxing Club in London.

Chief coach at the Academy, Robert Ellis said Macy took the first round giving her opponent a standing count.

Roxanne came undone in the second round after some thunderous left hands from ‘Spennymoor’s Southpaw’.

After giving a second count, the referee called a halt to the bout giving Macy the victory, Mr Ellis added.

The win made it two UK titles for the 16-year-old and another fantastic performance.

She steps into the ring again this weekend at the Winter Box Cup competition in Guildford, and hopes to bring another title home.

Mr Ellis thanked fellow coaches Mickey Thompson and Billy Ellis for travelling to Bridlington so Macy could compete.

And Macy thanked all coaches at Spennymoor Boxing Academy, which is based at Spennymoor Leisure Centre, for their help in the gym.
