THIS year's Wolsingham Christmas market is to be held in a different location to its usual market place site.

It is to be held in Wolsingham sports hall on Leazes Lane.

This is due to financial reasons with the expense of closing the roads in the centre of the town.

The venue will also be warmer than the chilly out doors.

A shuttle bus will be available to pick people up from the market place and drop them off at the Sports centre.

The event will take place from 4pm to 8pm on 15 November.

Durham County Councillor for Weardale Anita Savory said: " There will be stalls galore and with a large variety of traders."

Simon Raine of Weardale cheese said: "The Wolsingham fair is a lovely start to the festive period in Weardale with a great atmosphere, good selection of stalls and always well attended. I wouldn't miss it."

Also attending are Castlebank Butchers, Village Lantern clothing from Stanhope and Peats butchers from Barnard Castle.
