A POPULAR beer festival is set to take place in the upcoming weeks.

Sedgefield Cricket Club is holding their fifth beer festival in a weekend of ales and music.

The event will promote ales from breweries in the area which have been selected with the help of the Three Brothers Brewing Co – a brewery in Stockton.

Starting at 6pm on Friday, September 13, the festival will run until Sunday evening with free entry.

This annual festival will see live music from Newcastle trio Los Capitanes on Friday night as well as Anthony Grey as Elvis performing on Saturday night.

The popular band 101 will be closing the festival on Sunday night at 7.30pm.

Food will also be on offer throughout the weekend from The Impeccable Pig, Alfresco Napoli, Ronnie’s Fish and Chips and Robinsons of Wingate.

The event is suitable for all ages and children can enjoy a bouncy castle as part of the fun.

Sedgefield Cricket Club is a non-profit organisation and is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who organise the festival.

All profits raised from the weekend will help fund the maintenance and running of the club.

The festival will run from 6pm on Friday, September 13, to 11pm on Sunday, September 15 at Sedgefield Cricket Club grounds.
