A CHURCH is celebrating the success of its 2020 calender.

Parishioners at St Edmund’s Church, in Sedgefield, said the town’s annual agricultural show was an ideal venue for the Friends of St Edmund’s Church to launch sales of their 2020 calendar.

First at the sales stall was Sedgefield resident, Haydn Neal, who was followed soon afterwards by Sedgefield’s Mayor, Councillor Leo McCormack, and his wife, Sandra.

Friends of St Edmund’s Church secretary Brian Mutch said: “We were delighted by the comments we received from both locals and visitors.

“All the signs are that the calendar will prove just as successful as the one we produced last year.”

The slimline, month-per-page calendar, includes both colour and monochrome pictures of scenes and events in and around the town taken by nine photographers from Sedgefield and the surrounding areas over the past year.

Profits from the sale of the calendars – which the friends say would make an ideal Christmas present – will be used to help maintain the fabric of Sedgefield’s ancient parish church.

The cellophane-wrapped calendars are on sale at £6 can be bought by calling group secretary Alison Hodgson on 01740-620912, membership secretary Brian Mutch on 01740-622302 and from Toshach’s Tea Shop in Sedgefield and any other members of the Friends of St Edmund’s Church committee.
